JOIN THE CRAWL!
STEP 1: GET A TICKET
Pick Your Team in one of the following ways:
1. Choose the venue. If there’s a bar or restaurant you really want to crawl in, pick that one. That venue becomes your first stop on the route. Your remaining two stops will be revealed on the day of the Crawl.
2. Choose a Team Leader.
Our team leaders are your hype crew for the night. If there’s someone specific you want to roll with, pick their team. Search #KCTeamLeader on IG to browse this year’s team leader committee.
3. Choose a neighborhood and go Wildcard.
If you’re flexible, Wildcard tickets offer a more budget-friendly way to join the Crawl. Just choose a neighborhood and we’ll place you and your crew on a team in that area. We’ll let you know your team and venue on or before Dec. 18.
4. Choose a curated experience.
Look for select team experiences - like Divine 9 teams or Venue Takeovers. Or, want to stay at one venue instead of hopping around? Pick the “Stay & Play” team at Saint James Libation. Curated teams will be clearly labeled so you can choose the vibe you want.
5. Or just choose!
You really can’t go wrong at Kwanzaa Crawl. Grab a spot and get ready to have a good time. (Teams do sell out — once a team hits capacity, we can’t add more people.)
Step 2: Secure Your Bands
Your wristband is your entry into Kwanzaa Crawl — you must have it before the event. You’ve got two ways to get yours:
Option 1: Pick Up In Person (Dec 20–21 at Brooklyn Navy Yard)
Perks:
No waiting for the maiL
Shop the Buy Black Pop-Up
Free Kwanzaa Crawl cup (while supplies last)
Once wristband pickup opens, you’ll need to book an appointment. Watch our social media and newsletter for the announcement.
Option 2: Get Them Mailed (Order by Dec 12)
Perks:
No traffic, no lines
Zero extra errands — they come straight to you
How to get mailed wristbands:
Go to our Eventbrite page.
Scroll below the ticket options and select the Wristband Shipping add-on.
You only need one shipping add-on per order — we can mail multiple wristbands to the same address.
Fill out the wristband shipping form so we know exactly where to send everything.
Step 3: Prepare
We show up Black AF - loudly, proudly, and in full color, and we encourage you to do the same. Kwanzaa Crawl is our space to celebrate, support, and pour back into our community. We want you to take up space! Take the time before the event to rally the crew, get those fits coordinated and shirts printed, start putting aside some cash, make sure you’ve got the day off, etc. We’re about to make noise!
on crawl day
On the day of the event, meet up at the Kick-Off to connect with the rest of your team and to retrieve your Kwanzaa Crawl® map with your team’s route. From there, you’ll all crawl out to your first stop together. Please be on time, because you don’t want your team to leave without you.
Kick-Off times start at 12:30, so it’s a full day event!
Step 4: Meet Your Team
Kwanzaa Crawl starts at the Kick-Off, not your first bar. Different teams may have different Kick-Off times, so be sure to double check yours. Kick-Off times start around 12:30 PM, so it’s a full day event.
Before you walk out your door, make sure you have:
Your 21+ ID
Your wristband
Comfortable shoes
Your Metro card (with funds on it)
Any other cards you might need throughout the event
Your phone (charged and with a charged portable battery recommended)
Step 5: Party With A Purpose
Direct community action is rarely this much fun, but you can shake that azz all night knowing you’re supporting local Black-owned businesses, black creatives, and charity.
